Country (1974)

Originally issued in 1974 -  RIAA Gold-certified compilation album, the album reached #6 on the Billboard Country albums chart and #32 on the Billboard Pop albums chart. The album includes material from Murray's previous albums This Way Is My Way, Snowbird, Honey, Wheat and Laughter, Talk It Over in the Morning, Straight, Clean and Simple and Danny's Song. Anne Murray's importance to country music lies in her status as a successful crossover artist, a trailblazing Canadian female singer who achieved international success, and her numerous awards and accolades, including being the first Canadian female solo artist to reach #1 on US charts, and the first to earn a Gold record for one of her signature songs, “Snowbird” (1970), and the first woman to win “Album of the Year” at the Country Music Awards in Nashville for her certified Gold album, “A Little Good News”.
